At NYFA KAZAKHSTAN, we offer immersive One-Year and Four-Week Programs designed to prepare students for real-world experiences in the film and entertainment industry. Our One-Year Programs provide in-depth training in filmmaking for film, helping students develop their creative voice and technical expertise through intensive coursework and hands-on projects. For those seeking a shorter yet equally dynamic experience, our Four-Week Program offers an accelerated introduction to filmmaking, perfect for aspiring creatives looking to gain valuable skills in a focused timeframe. Filmmaking

The New York Film Academy One-Year Filmmaking Program offers hands-on training through lectures, seminars, and immersive workshops. Students begin with short projects to build essential skills, then move on to final films. The program provides a professional, intensive environment that fosters creativity and practical experience. Graduates gain a strong foundation in filmmaking and apply their knowledge to their own projects.

The NYFA One-Year Game Design Program is an intensive, full-time certificate course that immerses students in core aspects of game development. The curriculum combines narrative, design theory, game art, and programming with hands-on workshops and prototyping. It offers a creative and practical foundation for aspiring game developers, emphasizing both artistic growth and industry realities.

The One-Year Producing Program offers a comprehensive overview of film and TV production, combining creative and technical training. Through classes and hands-on projects, students gain the skills and industry knowledge needed for a professional career in producing.

3D Animation & Visual Effects

The New York Film Academy One-Year program in 3D Animation and VFX is a full-time conservatory course that trains students in all aspects of animation and visual effects. With a hands-on approach, the program helps aspiring artists develop their skills in a creative and practical environment.

Screenwriting

The One-Year Screenwriting program offers a comprehensive look at the art of screenwriting through writing courses, as well as courses in film studies. Students will be assigned several writing projects, which will be critiqued by their peers during in-class workshops.

Housing Gallery

NYFA Kazakhstan offers safe and comfortable housing options located in the heart of Almaty. Students can choose from our luxurious, spacious designer apartments. We offer shared double and single occupancy rooms in the residence. Each apartment comes fully furnished with twin or double beds, living room, spacious bathroom and built-in kitchen. Additionally, all apartments are equipped with a refrigerator, stove, sink, microwave, oven, dishwasher, washing machine and other amenities. We also welcome students with families. NYFA KAZAKHSTAN will provide direct return shuttles from the residence in Kaskelen to ensure the safety and comfort of the students. Access to the fitness center and breakfasts are included in the price. The residence has direct access to Esentai river and beautiful views of the mountains.

NYFA KAZAKHSTAN ADMISSIONS REQUIREMENTS

NYFA provides a supportive, welcoming community for students of all backgrounds and experience levels to pursue higher education in the arts. Students with ambitious creative goals are invited to apply year round for our Fall, Spring, and Summer graduate and undergraduate programs through our rolling admissions process. All applicants to our programs and workshops must have a high school diploma or acceptable equivalent by the time of the course start date.

NYFA strives to make education in the visual arts accessible to the most diverse, international, and broadest spectrum of students. Applicants must express a serious desire to explore the art and craft of visual storytelling in their application materials. Please note that our classes are taught in English and students must be fluent. Students can find the required application materials for each program in the resources listed below.

NYFA Enrollment and Deferral Policies

Applicants who are not accepted by the application deadline of their program, their application will be rescinded and they must reapply for a later start date and pay a new application fee.
...
Students who are accepted by the deadline and cannot attend but want to defer their program start may defer up to one year (365 days) by paying the $500 deposit fee and an additional $500 deferral fee. Both the deposit and deferral fee will be credited toward their first semester at NYFA.
